Being a Man

Today I saw a terrible sight, a homeless man and what appeared to be his female companion, were sitting at the bus stop. The woman was so under the influence that the man couldn't get her to wake up; against everything I had I walked by...ignoring the event. Once I finished by business downtown, I was walking back and noticed that the fire and police department had been called to treat this woman. What alarmed me the most about this event was the "man" was nowhere to be found. I was appalled that he left what appeared to be his partner...alone and afraid. What have we become? The EMT's did not know how to treat the woman and were prepared to take her to the hospital. I looked around and there he was...cowardly watching the whole event about 50 feet away. I told the Police and Fire Department representatives the "man" is over there and he knows what's wrong with her. This is what amazes me...our society has caused either this man to be a coward for fear of retribution or responsibility or he is literally a coward and never had an example on how to be a MAN. - Pink Man
